Happy Holidays 2008

A real gear buster ! It has been a rough ride and the storm clouds are covering the horizon. Many of us are bracing ourselves and are getting ready to punch through some interesting times ahead. Its like sailing through nasty weather with sunny skies and rewards waiting at the other end. Lets think positive.
We at Aeroyacht are thankful for another successful year resulting in many happy catamaran owners. There are new exciting projects ahead and Gregor is staring another book on catamarans. More next year.
You will also notice the new blog format for the newsletter that we are now terminating in place of the more userfriendly and interactive blog format.

Aeroyacht wishes you and your families Happy Holidays and the best for the coming New Year.

Thank You all for your continued support.

Aeroyacht 110 high-performance luxury catamaran

Aeroyacht 110 high-performance luxury catamaran

… not a yacht for everyone - but the only one for some

Imagine being picked up by your own private plane and flown to your waiting yacht where friends welcome you aboard the sleekest looking boat moored off Cannes. Then you go off for a day sail covering 50 miles in less than 2 hours while entertaining and relaxing with zero noise or heel. Welcome to the Aeroyacht 110 catamaran.

Designed by Gregor Tarjan - founder and president of
Aeroyacht Ltd. and Aeroyacht International in collaboration with the renown multihull-naval-architect team of Morrelli & Melvin, the 35 knot capable all-carbon Aeroyacht 110' luxury catamaran characterizes the "next generation" of high-performance sailing vessels. With a saloon area of a 300' motor yacht and high average speeds of an offshore powerboat she will have an unlimited operating radius under sail and more than 2800 nm range under power. This super-yacht's shallow draft is equivalent of a 35' monohull and you could even fit a tennis court on her deck. The generous 44' beam provides zero heel and guests will be sipping champagne at 30 knots burning no fossil fuels. As standard equipment this exceptional catamaran is equipped with a personal exploration airplane -the 2 seat Icon-A5 amphibian which will be launched and retrieved from a specially designed pod on the aft deck.

With its striking low profile and stealthy features it is not difficult to appreciate that even international designer greats such as
Ora-Ito was recently quoted (by French magazine Decor @ Home)..."that the Aeroyacht 110 is his favorite yacht" Inspired by world renown ocean-racers and evolved from a blank sheet of paper the advanced Aeroyacht 110' luxury catamaran is today's most innovative superyacht. Conceived from the ground up she is one of the largest composite multihulls in the world and represents the first model of a sleek, new range embodying the ultimate high-performance, supremely styled "green"-world traveler. Aeroyacht International will soon complement the 110' with the 95' and 125' and select shipyards around the world have been licensed to build this one-of a kind master piece.

Catamarans hit a record high: 27% of all import yachts

Here some good news...Multihulls hit a record high 27% of all imports, up from 23% a year ago Importers are predicting relatively flat imports in North America in 2008; especially in the 20’-40’ range. However they will continue the trend of catering to the recession proof “highest end consumer” estimating an impressive increase of 25 units in the 46’ and over category.
“Threats of a recession” and the prediction that the real estate crises will carry well into 2009, are reflective of a very cautionary tone in builder predictions for 2008.

WAF factor Outremer 49

The brand new Outremer 49 catamaran represents the first new development from the French specialist builder. With more than 200 catamarans built in nearly 25 years the vast experience in design and construction is embodied in the revolutionary Outremer 49 catamaran.
Xavier Desmaret, head of Outremer calls it the WAF-factor (Women Acceptance Factor) that sets this model apart from older models. Famed interior designer Frank Darnet was commissioned to create an environment of soothing colors and wooden accents without adding to the weight of the boat. Unlike previous models the Outremer 49 catamaran is a fast cruising yacht that shows interior refinements and innovative features that previous models lacked.
Payload has increased as well over the older 45 and this catamaran would be an ideal choice for long swift passages in the open ocean. Twin helm-seats with tiller steering will remind sailors of spirited beach cat like steering and the interior has a forward facing navigation station with a 360 degree view. In short - Outremer has re-invented itself and came out with another winner.
